Bupa named best international healthcare provider

9 February 2010

Bupa International has been named “Best International Healthcare Provider” by readers of Investment International. It emerged for the first time as the healthcare company that readers said stood out in a very challenging year.

Investment International is the leading offshore investment and personal finance magazine for British expats and international private investors. For more than 20 years, readers have voted for the companies which they believe are the most experienced and professional.

Commenting on the award, Tim Slee, Bupa International’s sales director said: “We are delighted that readers of Investment International have awarded Bupa International this accolade.

“Our customers have the reassurance of knowing that they can be treated in any of our 7,500 participating hospitals and clinics worldwide. Bupa’s doctors and in-house medical teams - unique among private medical insurers – arrange hundreds of emergency evacuations and repatriations each year and offer customers medical advice and guidance, 24 hours a day. Our multi-lingual advisers speak more than 30 languages and can help with everything from minor injuries and routine healthcare appointments to emergency evacuation – offering comfort to customers wherever they are in the world.

This award recognises the hard work and dedication of everyone at Bupa International and our desire to continue to give our customers access to good reliable health facilities and advice whenever and wherever they need it. “he said.

Bupa was also recently awarded the “Best International Medical Insurance Provider” for the ninth time by insurance brokers in the Health Insurance magazine awards.

Bupa International provides international health insurance plans to more than 800,000 expatriates in 190 countries. Last year, it launched Worldwide Health Options, a flexible tailor-made plan developed to suit individual customers’ needs. Cover is also available for business customers.
